In the weeks before his birthday we talked a lot about how old he would be and started counting down the days. Subsequently every time he met someone new he'd say, "I'm Weeum. I'm freee." Then he'd use both hands to proudly display three fingers, a lot of times four because he can't quite get his little pinkey to stay down.
He had some friends over a few days before his birthday to play and share his favorite cupcakes and juice boxes. After singing happy birthday it took him about five "pphhhhh"-s to blow out his candle.
His birthday was on a Sunday so grandma and grandpa came over for dinner. We celebrated with homemade ice cream and freshly made waffle cones. He loved it.
William's presents were big and plenty this birthday! Aunt Kira and Uncle Tyler gave him a Buzz Lightyear tunnel and tent/spaceship where he has since spent most of his time. Grandma and grandpa K. gave him a new Toy Story 3 big boy bike! While he didn't deliver the huge shock I anticipated, he loves it.
Baby boy will be here in 7 weeks or less.
We don't yet have a name or a finished nursery, but it'll come. We're getting excited as it's starting to become real that another baby is on it's way. William has been sharing his favorite blanket and animals with baby "brodder" for a while. But now each time we sit at the table he points to the one empty seat and says, "baby sit that chair".
I'm also excited to see William be a big brother to baby.

Thanks Kate for taking a 'real' pregnancy picture for me. No more mirror reflection belly shots. I now know how to use my timer.
We sing to William a lot, mostly at night. His bedtime routine is a couple books, maybe one or two stories that Karl makes up about ' a little boy named William' and then four songs, which always ends up being more like eight or nine.
Over the past few months he's learned the songs a little at a time and sings them around the house and in the car. Here is a video I took the other morning of him singing under the coffee table.
It's a little long but worth seeing a few minutes at least.
He's the cutest little singer if you ask me.
